Next Chapter Ministries Welcomes Reverend Dr. Torianto Johnson Sr.

We are pleased to introduce our new Next Chapter Ministries Executive Director, Reverend Dr. Torianto Johnson Sr. He comes to us from Ann Arbor, Michigan, with a clear leading that this role in our organization, dedicated to restoration and re-entry, is from the Lord.

Torianto has a heart for advocating for the poor, marginalized and underserved, while still lifting the Name of Jesus. He is deeply committed to community outreach and has most recently been involved with serving the unhoused, establishing a food pantry and providing housing and employment assistance in Washtenaw County, Michigan.

I have always believed that everybody in the community wins when we prioritize support for marginalized communities. I firmly believe in the potential for complete restoration for individuals who have been impacted by cycles of incarceration
— Torianto

Torianto completed his Bachelor of General Studies (Policy Studies) at the University of Michigan. He then went on to receive a Master of Arts in Religion with a concentration in theology from Yale Divinity School. Torianto received his Doctor of Ministry from Duke Divinity School.

Torianto is happily married to Angela and celebrated 30 beautiful years together in August. Their family consists of three adult children and one teenager. Torianto derives joy from watching and attending basketball, football and baseball games, spending time on the golf course and fishing.

We are excited to welcome Torianto on September 16th!
