2020 Annual Impact Report

House of Hope

Rochester’s first House of Hope was provided by Next Chapter Ministries this past year-achieving our vision to provide housing linked with services for a system-involved parent and their children.

Safe and affordable housing for a family exiting the system is a barrier to positive parenting that most of our participants face. By providing for that need, our staff is able to come alongside the family through the House of Hope and provide encouragement in sustainable independent living, spiritual support and counsel, community resources, and healthy parenting engagement.

Early last year, we welcomed Sarita and her five young children: Adaya, Emet, Carsen, Ephraim, Esme. She and her children have thrived since moving into the home, and they feel safe and nurtured in this supportive environment.

Sarita has benefited from the wrap-around care through the partnership with Together for Good by receiving meals, blessing bags, and diapers, and also joins our Monday evening Women's Bible study. We are excited to see what God will keep doing and for Sarita to grow in all aspects of her life. We are truly blessed to be partnering with her family!

Transformation Home

This year, Next Chapter put in a good faith offer to the house in our backyard. We weren’t sure if we would get it since we were certain our offer wasn’t as high as others, but I have to believe our upstanding reputation among our neighbors contributed to the decision to choose us!

With the help of some awesome volunteers to both make some minor improvements and help furnish it, we will be welcoming our first residents into the Transformation Home in March.

The Transformation Home is so special to us because it is the manifestation of our dreams to have a home for men who complete the Discipleship Program but could benefit from a transitional support system before living independently.

Our vision for the Transformation Home is to equip men for financial growth, relational health, spiritual vibrancy, & ongoing holistic wellness in their families and community. When men apply to participate, they will be able to spend a year working on homeownership, church membership, engaging more fully in their children’s lives, and continue to work towards financial independence and health. All while still having the support of the NCM family right next door!

If you have a desire to volunteer to help the men who desire this ongoing discipleship through mentorship, or other one time opportunities to get involved, please reach out to us at office@nextchapterrochester.org.
